On this
lovely day after breakfast we have been doing our countries’ presentations. After
our extremely delicious lunch at 12:00 we hopped on the bus and we headed out to
Glass Village, Nuutajärvi. The trip was very quiet as everybody was asleep.
Fortunately we had a great weather with only a dozen clouds on the sky. After
dividing ourselves into two extremely good-looking groups, group 1° went to make
some beads.
After a short walk we arrived to the house where an old lady was waiting for us. We were seated at a big table, the lady presented us how to make a proper bead out of glass, by heating a glass rod thus melting it, it became orange and gooey so that we could turn it around our personal metal sticks. Nicola sneezed on it, therefore making it unique. We designed our beads and then the lady helped us taking it to the oven. Everybody could make 3 beads of his/her own.
In the meantime group 2° visited the local shops including an Iittala Outlet, a glass shop with a lot of handmade unique glass items and ornamental accessories for your beautiful home. Also, we had the chance to see a glass making master and his apprentices making a futuristic vase. It was truly a magnificent experience. We could lay our hands on all kinds of glass animals and other glass products.
Lastly we
had the unmissable chance to relax while listening to the one and only Heini
reading us the prologue of the Kalevala.
The last program was the HA-HA game. It was extraordinarily fun!
